Job Title: Architectural Historian II

Join Eocene Environmental Group as an Architectural Historian II and contribute to the preservation of our nation's cultural heritage. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting cultural resources investigations and reporting on above-ground resources for Section 106 consultation, conducting historic resources surveys, and National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide NRHP eligibility evaluations and assess potential effects to historic properties.
  • Conduct fieldwork for reconnaissance-level and intensive-level architectural surveys nationwide.
  • Conduct archival research at local repositories, including libraries, archives, museums, and land record offices.
  • Prepare architectural descriptions and complete Architectural Survey Inventory Forms.
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparing technical reports for Section 106 cultural resource investigations.
  • Support the development of historic contexts and prepare NRHP nominations.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Historic Preservation, City/Regional Planning, History, or a related field.
  • Meet the Secretary of Interior's Qualification Standards in History, Historic Architecture, and/or Architectural History, or Historic Preservation.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Cultural Resources Management/Consulting or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research for historic properties and preparing cultural resource reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad Light and GIS technology.
  • Experience in preparing NRHP nominations and Rehabilitation Tax Credit Applications.
  • Experience in developing Historic Preservation Plans and/or Design Guidelines.
