Position Overview:
As the Director of Estimating & Preconstruction, you will be instrumental in guiding our project teams and ensuring the success of our initiatives. Your role will encompass the management of preconstruction and estimating functions, engaging with both internal and external partners, and driving project profitability. This position is an opportunity to lead innovative practices and contribute to the overall success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee projects from initial cost estimates to the formalization of subcontract agreements.
- Collaborate with design and project teams to identify cost-effective solutions.
- Present comprehensive project estimates and budgets to relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of estimating methodologies and cost models.
- Manage procurement processes and subcontractor engagements.
- Facilitate bid solicitation, evaluation, and analysis.
- Evaluate project risks and monitor cost variances.
- Provide guidance on scope modifications and market assessments.
- Mentor and develop the preconstruction team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimation.
- At least five years in a leadership capacity.
- Proficient in construction coding and relevant software applications.
- Strong command of Excel and scheduling tools.
- Experience with Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) and Lump Sum projects.
