  • Position Summary: We are seeking a full-time Project Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is crucial in assisting the Project Manager with various operational tasks related to construction projects.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors and other resources effectively.
    • Serve as the main point of contact between field operations and the accounting department to ensure precise timekeeping and job cost reporting.
    • Collaborate with Area and Project Superintendents to formulate short-term work schedules and monitor material requirements for ongoing projects.
    • Document quantities and field measurements for progress payments.
    • Prepare Daily Extra Work Reports for review by Contract Administration.
    • Participate in construction site meetings and pre-construction discussions as necessary.
    • Ensure a safe and organized work environment by adhering to company policies and regulations.
    • Manage and track all submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs).
    • Submit Staking Requests and develop traffic control plans, including scheduling lane closures.
    • Conduct Takeoffs for plan modifications.
    • Create daily time cards in HCSS and oversee adjustments for field-generated time cards.
    • Provide administrative support for remote offices, including phone management, document scanning, filing, supply ordering, and mail processing.

  • Qualifications:
    • Three to five years of engineering experience in a roadway construction setting is required.
    • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management, or an Associate's Degree in Construction Management or related fields is preferred.
    • Essential Skills:
    • Proficient understanding of blueprints and project specifications.
    • Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Basic knowledge of scheduling software, such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • This position offers a competitive hourly wage along with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage. The employer covers 100% of employee premiums and 75% of dependent premiums. Additional benefits include Life Insurance, a 401K Plan, vacation, and sick leave.
