Our Educational Approach

Key Responsibilities:
- Designs, prepares, and delivers engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that promote active learning.
- Creates structured work plans, lesson outlines, and assessments in line with established guidelines.
- Guides and supervises students in utilizing educational materials and tools.
- Employs relevant technology to enhance and differentiate instruction.
- Manages classroom behavior by establishing and upholding rules and procedures.
- Maintains discipline in accordance with the established Student Code of Conduct.
- Provides timely and constructive feedback on student assignments.
- Monitors individual student progress and adjusts teaching strategies based on data and assessments.
- Observes, evaluates, and maintains accurate records of student progress and development.
- Ensures all necessary documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with regulations.
- Prepares required reports on student performance and activities.
- Engages in collaborative meetings with peers, parents, and school leadership.
- Communicates regularly with students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
- Sets and communicates clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Prepares the classroom environment for instructional activities.
- Provides diverse learning materials and resources for educational activities, accommodating individual needs as necessary.
- Assigns and evaluates student work, including homework, tests, and projects.
- Demonstrates expertise in working with students from varied cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds, utilizing culturally responsive teaching methods.
- Encourages parental and community involvement, responds promptly to inquiries, and maintains open lines of communication.
- If serving as an advisor, leads daily advisory sessions, implements advisory lessons, conducts regular one-on-one meetings, and hosts student-led conferences throughout the year.
- Participates in relevant professional development activities.
- Engages in extracurricular initiatives such as social events, sports, clubs, and student organizations as directed.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- B.A/B.S degree in education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Illinois State certification in the relevant subject area or enrollment in a teacher certification program.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and students.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven reliability in attendance and punctuality.
- Knowledge and application of relevant educational technology.
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.
