Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Study Coordinator to join our team at Northwestern University. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the collection, analysis, and reporting of data, as well as assisting the Principal Investigator in evaluating the validity of test data obtained from biomedical and social-behavioral research studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the planning and conduct of research studies, including participant recruitment and retention.
  • Obtain informed consent from participants.
  • Administer tests and questionnaires according to established protocols.
  • Collect, compile, and process responses.
  • Extract and analyze data from medical charts.
  • Perform basic clinical procedures, such as drawing blood and obtaining blood pressure.
Administration
  • Collect, record, review, and summarize research data.
  • Collate relevant mathematical results and prepare tables, charts, and graphs reflecting relationships between multiple tests.
  • Prepare reports for investigators and sponsors on recruitment status and other pertinent study data.
  • Write portions of grant applications and co-author scientific papers.
  • Complete documents associated with current local, state, and federal regulatory guidelines, requirements, laws, and research protocols.
Finance
  • Process payments for research participants according to study protocol.
  • Work with industry representatives to negotiate tentative grant funding.
  • Coordinate reimbursements for expert panel travel, consultant pay, additional gift card orders, and ensure costs remain within allotted grant budget.
Supervision
  • Provide work direction and/or train other research staff to interview/test participants.
  • Act as a mentor in regard to education of junior coordinators.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related.
  • Appropriate combination of education and experience, with 2 years' research study or other relevant experience required.
  • Must complete NU's IRB CITI training before interacting with any participants and must re-certify every 3 years.

Target hiring range for this position will be between $19.89 to $27.97 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
