Job Summary

As a Senior Planner, External Operations, you will be responsible for managing the creation and timely execution of production schedules for Contract Manufacturers (Domestic and International) while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels and agreed upon service levels. You will create and maintain purchase orders and other transactions within SAP, perform monthly or quarterly inventory reconciliations with assigned CM sites, and ensure inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead supply planning to maintain service and inventory with contract manufacturing, serving as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for assigned CMs.
  • Manage relationships with strategic CM sites through monthly Collaborative Supply and Operations Planning (CS&OP) Process.
  • Develop and maintain long-term planning for catalog in IBP planning tool environment.
  • Ensure Shiseido Owned inventory accuracy at external manufacturing sites.
  • Own daily management for service and inventory for the portfolio.
  • Work with New Product Commercialization to define supply plans for launches.
  • Execute defined service level agreements for CMs.
Working Relationships/Key Stakeholders
  • In conjunction with CMs and procurement, and in line with the global planning blueprint, define run strategies for various product types and classes (e.g., ABC class).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external manufacturing plants, building rhythm and cadence with sites to enrich relationships.
  • In alignment with the planning blueprint, define inventory policies to accurately translate forecasts into manufacturing production schedules in support of defined run strategies and business objectives.
  • Interface with CMs to ensure implementation and use of most efficient, cost-effective manufacturing strategies by product type.
  • Maintain low inventory report (Shiseido Service Letter) and daily service management for portfolio, in partnership with S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning).
  • Maintain all SKUs within planning window while keeping agreed service levels.
  • Work with CMs to execute SLAs as per agreed strategies.
  • Work with CMs to define supply strategies as per category.
  • Plan and track inventory levels of Finished Goods via long-term IBP planning module.
  • Monitor Excess and Obsolete inventory, driving Root Cause Problem Solving and action planning/execution to reduce E&O.
  • Work with Material Supply Planning to ensure timely component deliveries.
  • Work with New Product Commercialization to define supply plans for new product launches.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Prefer APICS exposure and CPIM certification.
  • 4-year academic degree in relevant field or related job experience.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in supply planning role, ideally in manufacturing or supplier environment in consumer goods industry.
  • Competent user of computerized IT systems – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other associated scheduling, forecasting software packages.
  • 3+ years of experience working within ERP/MRP environment at advanced level.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Thorough working knowledge of DRP and MPS processes in manufacturing or CM environment.
  • End-to-End Supply Chain Functions and Linkage.
  • In-depth understanding of capacity management and production control concepts.
  • In-depth understanding of safety stock levels and other key parameters for Finished Goods and components.
  • Production life cycle management.
  • Thorough knowledge of TQM methodology, their application, and their use towards continuous improvements.
  • In-depth understanding of Supplier Management concepts.
