Job Title: Subject Matter Expert III

Alaska Northstar Federal (ANF) is seeking a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert III to join our team. This is a long-term, fully remote opportunity supporting a DoD program with the US Air Force.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expertise in a specific subject, business area, software product, or technical area for a project or program.
  • Define procedures or standards, using knowledge of what the right or best way to execute a task would be; and recommend procedural improvements.
  • Have extensive experience in specific subject, software product, or technical area.
  • Comprehend the language, terms, and jargon in area or software product of expertise; and understand required knowledge needed to determine effective decision-making being able to describe where inconsistencies, irregularities, or flaws may occur.
  • Assure area of expertise or software product is clearly explained to others, and serve as liaison within a department or function for questions and problems within the area of expertise.
  • Assure facts and details are correct so that the project or program's deliverables will meet the needs of appropriate parties.
  • Represent a business unit's needs to the project team. Validate the requirements and deliverables, related to the area of expertise or software product, that describe product(s) or service(s); test the product(s) or service(s) near the end of the project or program, using and evaluating it for accuracy and usability; and provide feedback to the project team.
  • Provide input for the design and construction of test cases and scenarios and may validate executed test results.
  • Give input into and execute user documentation and training materials.
  • Guide others working on a project to ensure the content is accurate.
  • Resolve issues relevant to project deliverable(s) within the area of expertise.
  • Obtain or provide approval for changes to rules, processes, and policies.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Candidate must have an active DoD Secret Clearance at minimum.
  • Candidate must have active CompTIA Security+ CE or other applicable active 8570 IAT Level II Certification.
  • Candidate must have 15+ years experience with the following:
    • Managing and facilitating system governance processes, including ticket queue management, governance request prioritization, and SLA management.
    • Coordinating governance board meetings and documenting outcomes.
    • Designing and maintaining real-time dashboards for system operations and security monitoring using the ELK Stack.
    • Creating compliance monitoring dashboards for FIAR and FISCAM readiness.
    • Managing tickets, facilitating meetings, and leading team efforts for smooth onboarding, migration, and governance processes.
    • Strong In-depth understanding of FIAR (Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness) and FISCAM (Federal Information Systems Control Audit Manual) compliance requirements.
    • Align software development and system engineering practices with federal regulatory requirements, including audit readiness and documentation.

Salary Description: $130,000 - $155,000
