Job Title: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Pediatrix Medical Group. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, recording anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by physicians.
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance, maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to strict medical protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and sonographic data, ensuring timely and efficient processing for presentation to interpreting physicians.
  • Code services performed, submit completed billing worksheets daily, and notify Patient Service Associates of additional services requiring authorization.
  • Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment, recognizing malfunctions and taking corrective action to ensure optimal performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies, adhering to quality control standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and courtesy.
  • Act in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner, respecting patients' religious, ethical, and moral opinions/beliefs.
  • Recognize and comply with safety and security training, OSHA standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities to enhance professional growth and expertise.
  • Participate in professional development activities and meetings, maintaining affiliations with relevant medical organizations.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in diagnostic ultrasound, with fetal echo experience required.
  • Current/valid certification in diagnostic ultrasound, with maintenance or eligibility for certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program or equivalent experience.
  • Current fetal echo certification and evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.
