Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in using diagnostic medical equipment to diagnose various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review patient medical history and physician instructions
  • Prepare equipment for procedures and select appropriate settings
  • Explain procedures to patients and record relevant medical history
  • Operate diagnostic equipment to direct sound waves into patient areas and collect reflected echoes
  • View screens during scans and select images for physician diagnosis
  • Take measurements, calculate values, and analyze results in preliminary reports
  • Maintain patient records and adjust/maintain equipment
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Comply with safety, infection control, and quality improvement policies/procedures
