Position Overview
The Underwriting Operations Assistant plays a crucial role in the initial assessment of various lines of commercial insurance. This position ensures that all business is processed in alignment with the established underwriting standards. The assistant will also facilitate communication with Underwriters and manage referral risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary evaluations and provide limited approvals for new business, renewals, inspections, and follow-ups across all business lines.
- Offer rating assistance and underwriting support to agents in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts.
- Collaborate closely with multiple Underwriters to support underwriting activities for a designated group of agents.
- Generate quotes, issue new business, and handle endorsement processing.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledgeable in commercial lines including BOP, Auto, Contractors, Garage, and Dealers.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
