Simulation Center Manager

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites applications for a Simulation Center Manager for the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. This is a 12-month, full-time exempt position responsible for the day-to-day operation of the simulation center.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the preparation, maintenance, inventory, and operation of all simulation equipment/supplies.
- Collaborate with faculty to design, plan, implement, and schedule simulation activities.
- Ensure adherence to the center's policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and supervise the general operation of the simulation center.
- Oversee the regular maintenance of all simulation equipment.
- Communicate effectively with vendors to ensure optimal maintenance, repair, and updates for the equipment/technology.
- Coordinate upgrades to software and equipment as needed.
- Provide recommendations for equipment and supply purchases anticipating future changes in technology.
- Assist in the development and implementation of curricula for Pharmacy Practice & Administration, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant training programs.
- Participate in faculty and department meetings as needed to assist with the development and implementation of simulation experiences.
- Coordinate training for all users of the simulation laboratory.
- Coordinate simulation center schedule in compliance with simulation center policies.
- Network with other lab/simulation Coordinators at the local/state/national level to develop and utilize best practices.
- Coordinate the collection of data for ongoing research or grant requirements.
- Coordinate the setup and maintenance of computer-based training programs.
- Clinical knowledge and experience working in a healthcare-related field.
- Combination of education, training, and/or experience, which can be demonstrated to result in possession of the qualifications necessary to perform the duties of this position.
- Two year's experience in clinical practice OR two years of full-time teaching experience in a healthcare program.
- A high degree of comfort with computer technology.
- MS in appropriate field.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy/physiology.
- Mechanical skills to competently maintain and use equipment in the simulation center.
- Ability to meet the challenges of adult learners with diverse backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Physical ability to lift, move, maintain, and set up computer, audio-visual, and simulation lab equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
