Orlando Health is seeking a highly skilled Invasive Specialist to join our team in the Cardiac Catheterization lab. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention for cardiovascular procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality patient care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures and protocols.
- Assess patient's physical condition and age-specific needs, ensuring that patient education, safety, and comfort are met.
- Acquire patient's clinical history and verify files and records for completeness and accuracy.
- Position patients, equipment, and associated devices to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
- Assess processed image media for technical quality and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
- Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Provide physiological and hemodynamic monitoring during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Support physicians as a scrub assistant for cardiovascular procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic technique and appraise and evaluate actual and potential hemostasis of a vessel post-procedure.
- Locate, use, and troubleshoot complex technical equipment and instruments, acting as a resource for their operation and training.
- Maintain customer service skills in communication with all staff, visitors, and coworkers.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, tools, and forms.
- Understand the application and technical aspects of all equipment and supplies used in procedures.
- Ensure case turnover time is within established department standards by maintaining proper workflow and prioritizing optimal patient care.
- A graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technologist, Respiratory Therapy, or Radiologic Technology.
- Maintain current BLS and ACLS certification, with PALS certification may be required depending on unit-specific needs.
- The following licensure or certification is required depending on the corresponding education: CVT, RRT, CRT, or Rad Tech.
- One (1) year experience in Cardiac Catheterization lab is required, with the ability to meet all job duties of Invasive Specialist I and unit-specific performance competencies.
