Job Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention for cardiovascular procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures and protocols.
  • Assess the patient's physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Ensure that patient's education of procedure performed, needs, safety, and comfort are met while in their care.
  • Acquire patient's clinical history and assure that the information is accurately documented.
  • Position patient, equipment, associated devices, and manipulate technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assess processed image media for technical quality, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
  • Provide physiological and hemodynamic monitoring during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Support the Physician as a scrub assistant for cardiovascular procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic technique.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care, Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology.
  • Maintain current certification as a Rad Tech (RT); or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); or Registered Cardiovascular Technician (RCVT); or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS); or Cardiovascular Tech (CVT).
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider and ACLS certification.
  • PALS may be required depending on unit-specific needs.
