Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Steward to join our team at Chumash Enterprises. As a key member of our Food and Beverage department, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the Stewarding team, ensuring all kitchen areas and equipment are properly maintained, cleaned, and stocked to support daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and lead the activities of the Stewarding team to ensure efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance of kitchen areas and equipment.
  • Perform daily deep cleaning of all kitchen areas and equipment, including grills, hot boxes, and speed racks.
  • Replace foil liners beneath all kitchen line equipment and keep kitchen, food storage, cooking, preparation, and dining areas and equipment clean, sanitary, and in good working condition.
  • Sort and wash soiled dining and kitchen items, including plates, bowls, flatware, glassware, chinaware, pots, pans, and hot pots.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations and support back of house Team Members as needed.
  • Train, mentor, develop, coach, resolve problems, provide open communication vehicles, and recommend disciplinary actions as appropriate.
  • Build a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, collaboration, performance feedback/management, and Team Member satisfaction while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Two years prior experience in a lead, supervisory, or similar level position within the food and beverage industry.
  • One year prior experience in dishwashing, stewarding, or related experience.
  • Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.

  • Attention to Detail: Taking responsibility for a thorough and detailed method of working.
  • Planning and Organizing: Setting priorities and defining actions, time, and resources needed to achieve predefined goals.

  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.
