Job Description Summary

As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for driving process capability, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives within our designated manufacturing unit. You will provide specific engineering work related to your field of expertise, with a broad overlap between engineering disciplines expected. Your support will be crucial in capacity planning and growth, as well as defining budgeted rates and process documentation.

You will ensure compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, and best practices, as well as all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. You will be required to read, write, and converse in English, and be willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and sustain BD Excellence work process for the manufacturing unit.
  • Identify critical equipment settings and create standards.
  • Create technical knowledge for the manufacturing unit and transfer the knowledge to operators and technical associates.
  • Coach associates on continuous improvement methodologies within the manufacturing unit.
  • Understand top losses within the manufacturing unit and develop and implement plans to eliminate losses and drive OEE performance.
  • Responsible for manufacturing unit change control, including validation activities, root cause analysis of prioritized OEE losses, and quality events and deviations.
  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
  • Ensure safety of all associates and quality of product.
  • Ensure new manufacturing processes and process improvements meet manufacturing unit objectives.
  • Ensure equipment is running efficiently and effectively.
  • Analyze current state of equipment efficiency to drive OEE improvement and sustainability.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED: Required
  • Associates Degree: Electro-mechanical/ Mechatronics or related field: Preferred
  • BA/BS Degree: Engineering, Electrical/ Mechatronics Engineering: Preferred
  • In lieu of Associates Degree, 5 years technical manufacturing experience: Required
  • 2 yrs Medical manufacturing experience: Preferred
