R&D Manager for Specialty Gas Product Line

Job Summary:

Entegris is seeking a highly skilled R&D Manager to lead our Specialty Gas product line. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of talented R&D Scientists, driving research and development activities, and executing on development plans to address customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a research and development strategy that drives business objectives, in alignment with internal and external technology roadmaps.
  • Identify and manage the implementation of process and capability improvements.
  • Foster internal and external technical relationships by proactively interacting with key stakeholders.
  • Drive successful project execution to meet deadlines and R&D team goals.
  • Drive data-based decision making across the team and organization.
  • Foster innovation and drive accountability in intellectual property protection.
  • Manage the idea funnel and ensure a robust pipeline of technical opportunities that are aligned to the business unit strategic objectives.
  • Create a collaborative culture with an emphasis on teamwork inside the R&D department and with key support groups across other areas.
  • Manage alignment of technical talent to match business needs; make appropriate resource allocation/prioritization decisions, and advocate for additional resources when gaps arise.
  • Be recognized as a technical leader within the Specialty Gasses Business Unit.
  • Select, develop, and coach a diverse, talented team.
  • Be committed to the individual development of direct reports.
  • Model company PACE values, lead by example, and hold others accountable.

Requirements:

  • A PhD or M.S. in Chemistry or similar area of study is required; MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-years progressive technical experience in the Specialty Gas industry.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated technical team management or project lead experience.
  • Experience building teams and setting a strategic direction for an organization strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence others, at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to consider technical direction with a commercial and customer focus.

  • Pay Range: The salary range for this role is estimated at $110,000-$150,000, with actual salary flexible based on candidates' qualifications and experience.
