The Engineer III role represents a senior level within our engineering classification. In this capacity, you will tackle intricate engineering challenges with minimal oversight. We expect our Engineer III to cultivate advanced competencies and demonstrate the ability to operate with increased autonomy. This position requires the effective application of fundamental engineering principles to progressively complex tasks.

Essential Qualifications for Engineer III
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong grasp of engineering theories and methodologies.
  • Experience in researching engineering and design challenges, assessing alternatives, and making informed recommendations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver reports and presentations.
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of the FE Exam.
  • Successful completion of the Professional Engineers Exam.
  • Advanced degree in engineering is a plus.
  • Prior experience in providing engineering services within the utility sector.
  • Experience at a power generation facility is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with project management principles.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing work demands and priorities.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as AISC, ACI, ASCE, AWS, IBC, ASTM, ASME.
  • Proficiency in software tools like STAAD, AutoCAD, and Mathcad.
  • Capability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
Working Conditions
  • This position operates in a hybrid model, requiring 2-3 days in the office or at a facility each week. Additional visits may be necessary for project support.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, noise, dust, and confined spaces.
  • Physical demands include walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Standard work hours are 10 hours per day, 4 days per week, with potential for occasional weekend or holiday work as needed.
Specific Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program is required.
  • A Master's degree in Engineering may substitute for the B.S. degree.
