This role involves managing diverse projects, offering expert guidance on utility program development, and leading research on energy-efficient technologies and market trends. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of energy programs, assisting clients and stakeholders in navigating complex market dynamics, and crafting strategies that reduce energy consumption, minimize carbon emissions, and enhance equity.
We're a women-led energy transformation firm focused on impact. Building on our expertise in energy efficiency, we're expanding our portfolio of clean energy solutions to guide utilities through increasingly complex challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Market and Technical Research: Create and oversee technical models that forecast technology market changes over time, focusing on building systems, especially HVAC and water heating.
- Data Analysis and Synthesis: Gather, analyze, and distill large datasets to generate actionable insights, using your expertise in data science, programming (Python, R), and Excel to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
- Strategic Program Management: Manage program portfolios, blending technical execution with strategic goals. Oversee project budgets, timelines, and scopes while working closely with clients and cross-functional teams to adapt to their evolving needs.
- Energy Systems Expertise: Share deep technical knowledge of energy and building systems, including HVAC, water heating, and building envelope components, to inform program development and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Thought Leadership and Communication: Share your research findings through reports, presentations, and engaging visuals that effectively convey complex concepts to various audiences. Cultivate client relationships and provide strategic guidance on the design and implementation of energy programs.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of professionals, promoting collaboration and ensuring top-notch outcomes. Address project challenges with senior leadership as needed, and mentor the team to establish consistent and robust best practices for data management, analysis, documentation, and QAQC.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Keep abreast of energy policies and regulatory frameworks that oversee energy efficiency programs, integrating new developments into program recommendations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, public policy, environmental science, or a related field is required. A master's degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
- Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in energy management, building science, utility program design, or energy policy, with a proven track record of leading projects to successful completion.
- Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in programming (Python, R) and data analysis tools. Fluency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is essential.
- Skills: Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with experience in presenting to diverse audiences and managing client relationships.
- Interest in sustainability and passionate about making a meaningful impact on the environment.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including three weeks paid vacation per year, paid holidays, a 401(k) plan with employee matching funds, a discretionary bonus, and more.
