Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production and Maintenance Coordinator to join our team at SunCoke Energy. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all work requests for maintenance and operational resources are thoroughly scrutinized for budgetary impact and justification prior to release.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work Request Review: Review all non-emergency work requests to ensure that work order content meets process requirements and requested completion dates align with facilities planning lead times.
  • Maintenance Headcount Monitoring: Monitor and report on the site maintenance headcount (SunCoke, resident contractors, and third-party services) to ensure staffing levels are within budgetary constraints.
  • Budgetary Adjustments: Elevate the need to increase budgeted headcount for surge maintenance and outage events.
  • Scheduling and Resource Allocation: Facilitate the weekly scheduling meeting and ensure that planned work is matched with available resources. The content of the weekly schedule is a collaborative effort between all plant departments, with the Production and Maintenance Coordinator having final determination of the schedule.
  • Maintenance Resource Optimization: Redirect minor maintenance activities to production technicians as time, tools, and material are available to ensure optimal use of maintenance resources.
  • Work Order Quality Control: Coach and provide feedback to the originator when work orders are not properly entered or are entered with insufficient descriptions.
  • Management of Change: Ensure that the Management of Change process is followed when necessary.
  • Work Order Prioritization: Continually review work order backlogs to ensure that jobs with the highest priority and added value are prioritized, planned, and executed in a timely fashion, such that regulatory requirements are maintained and reliability is not jeopardized.
  • Contractor Management: Coordinate the site's contractor activities to adhere to bargaining unit requirements.
  • Maintenance Overtime: Elevate the need for maintenance overtime to ensure jobs will complete in time to meet the needs of the process unit.
  • Schedule Review: Review daily schedules to ensure they meet the plant's needs.
  • Interdepartmental Liaison: Act as a liaison between operations and maintenance groups on any problems adhering to the schedule.
  • Production Operator Support: Provide schedule information to the Production Operators for equipment preparation needs.
  • Reliability Improvements: Participate in the identification and implementation of reliability-driven improvements.
  • Work Flow Process: Ensure that the work group has a full understanding of the work flow process.
  • SSEP Compliance: Follow all SSEP requirements.
  • Winterization Program: Manage the plant winterization program.
Requirements

We are seeking an individual with an Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and 2 to 5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous supervisory experience and contractor management are preferred.

Certifications: CMRP preferred.
