Position Overview

As a key member of the HR team, the Human Resources Specialist will play a vital role in managing employee transitions by efficiently processing all requests within the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and maintaining accurate records.

This position involves generating and compiling various reports from the database as needed, ensuring that management has access to critical information.

The specialist will enhance employees' understanding of benefits programs by regularly disseminating communications and providing support as issues arise.

Acting as a liaison with multiple insurance providers, the specialist will cultivate strong relationships with client representatives to ensure effective service delivery.

Additionally, the role requires keeping management informed of potential challenges and recommending or implementing appropriate solutions.

The Human Resources Specialist will oversee the management of leave of absence cases, providing support to both employees and vendors.

Responsibilities also include creating and maintaining comprehensive files for all employee-related programs, including FMLA, PFL, disability, and Worker's Compensation.

Training initiatives will be a part of this role, including the development and presentation of orientations and other HR-related topics.

Monitoring the completion of performance evaluations and coaching managers through the process will also be essential.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Associate's degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • A total of 10 years of human resources experience in lieu of a degree.

A minimum of 3 years of experience using a Human Resource Management System (HRIS) is required, with a preference for UKG Pro and Workforce Management.

Familiarity with regulations such as COBRA, ERISA, and FMLA, as well as experience in administering benefits and compensation programs, is essential.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, along with the ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and emotional intelligence.

Travel to various program sites may be necessary as part of the role.
