About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Metals Trader to join our team at Michael Page. As a key member of our commodities sales team, you will be responsible for executing trades, managing client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities within the metals market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trade Execution: Execute buy and sell orders for various metals, including gold, silver, copper, and aluminum, while ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with market insights, trading strategies, and timely execution.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends, economic data, and geopolitical developments to make informed trading decisions.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams in both Chinese and English, ensuring clear and accurate information exchange.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other traders and analysts to develop and refine trading strategies and market forecasts.
  • Risk Management: Manage and mitigate trading risks by employing effective risk management strategies and adhering to compliance regulations.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present market reports, trading performance summaries, and strategic recommendations to clients and senior management.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a sales trader in the metals market or a related trading environment.
  • Language: Bilingual proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) and English is required.
  • Skills: Proven track record of successful trading and client management. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data and trends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Software: Proficiency in trading platforms and financial software.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
