Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Audit Senior Associate to join our Investment Fund Practice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional client service, developing industry expertise, and contributing to the growth and success of our practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and high-quality client service, including coordinating audits of complex financial statements and related disclosures.

  • Develop a deep understanding of clients' businesses and needs, and become an industry specialist to address client-specific requirements.

  • Utilize RSM's Global Audit Methodology to deliver exceptional results.

  • Train and supervise Audit Associates on engagement teams, and function as an in-charge to facilitate field work, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to work plan schedules.

  • Anticipate and address client concerns, escalating issues as necessary to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Interact with clients to ensure efficient information flow between the client and audit team.

  • Identify and communicate significant accounting and auditing matters to managers, senior managers, and partners on engagement.

  • Provide insightful feedback on financial statements and prepare client deliverables such as board communications, deficiency letters, and management letters.

  • Recognize industry-specific and general accounting and auditing issues, including revenue recognition, business combinations, debt and equity accounting, and determine the appropriate audit approach.

  • Identify performance improvement opportunities for team members and ensure professional development through ongoing education.

  • Be willing to travel up to 25% of the year, depending on client needs.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting or equivalent degree.

  • 2 years of current or recent experience in a public accounting environment.

  • Understanding of audit services, including knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and FASB or IFRS regulations.

  • CPA certification or demonstrated progress towards obtaining CPA certification, including required coursework.

  • Demonstrated experience and ability to act as in-charge on engagements.

  • Willingness to take supervision and guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of audit services, including knowledge of PCAOB.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

  • Must think critically and work well independently.
