Professionals in this position typically possess a minimum of two years' experience as an Audit Associate, including participation in two busy seasons within the calendar or fiscal year. Candidates should have either completed the CPA examination or sections of it. The Senior Audit Associate is expected to:
- Understand and articulate the rationale behind firm policies and protocols.
- Demonstrate technical expertise and communication skills adequate for supervising and mentoring Staff Audit Associates.
- Effectively communicate with clients regarding their audit-related inquiries.
- Begin to cultivate the skills necessary for establishing strong client relationships throughout the audit process and beyond.
- Enhancing their understanding of GAAP and applying it to financial statements, notes, cash, tax, and other specialized frameworks, as well as unique accounting principles and financial presentations.
- Possessing a solid grasp of common audit regulations, methodologies, and research techniques, including various resources available in the firm library.
- Completing basic audits from initiation to conclusion with managerial support.
- Efficiently overseeing both audit and non-audit engagements.
- Successfully finalizing financial statements without significant alterations.
- Identifying additional opportunities to broaden audit service offerings to clients.
- Exhibiting strong mentorship capabilities for Audit Associates, providing training and guidance.
- Assisting in the formulation of job budgets.
- Maintaining necessary Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Experience with CCH Axcess or similar software.
- Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite is preferred.
- Knowledge of Odoo ERP and CRM is advantageous.
- Experience with QuickBooks and tax preparation software is a plus.
- Ability to work autonomously within a collaborative environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business and Accounting.
- CPA, EA, or CPA eligibility is preferred.
