About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Development Director to join our team at the American Heart Association. As a key member of our Field Campaigns team, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of our Heart of Twin Cities campaign, including generating revenue through corporate sponsorships and individual donations.

This is a fast-paced sales-type position that requires a strong ability to drive revenue in support of our mission. You will have direct responsibility for soliciting corporations for sponsorships/partnerships and individual donations, as well as providing direct coaching and supervision to 3 fundraising staff.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience, as well as 1+ years of experience in a management capacity. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Prospect and secure local corporate sponsorships and individual donations
  • Guide and direct assigned staff to reach goals
  • Identify, recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership
  • Develop profiles on the top businesses within the Twin Cities market
  • Implement event logistics based on national best practices
  • Work closely with a Communications Director to develop and manage a promotion/communications plan for the campaign
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a management capacity
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend and analyze number goals, as well as fundraising reports
  • Ability to do daily travel up to 75%
