Position Title: Controls Engineer

Role Summary: As part of our strategic growth, we are seeking to enhance our engineering team with skilled Controls Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical and control system solutions grounded in engineering principles.
  • Deliver system training and technical assistance to clients.
  • Address operational challenges associated with projects to minimize delays and cost overruns.
  • Ensure project success as either a project leader or a collaborative team member.
  • Interpret client specifications and identify design parameters and engineering challenges.
  • Analyze project needs and perform technical calculations to support design, including electrical specifications and motor controls.
  • Finalize designs to align with project requirements.
  • Source equipment and components from external vendors.
  • Conduct cost and time assessments.
  • Design customized electrical solutions, including automation and safety systems.
  • Develop Allen Bradley PLC and HMI software.
  • Create comprehensive customer documentation, including user manuals and electrical schematics.
  • Commission tailored products and systems at client sites.
  • Provide exceptional pre-sales, design-in, and post-sales technical support.
  • Exhibit professionalism, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD for electrical panel design.
  • Experienced with Rockwell Automation software, including RSLogix500 and Studio5000.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of control and electrical system design for automated industrial applications.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, BACnet, etc.).
  • Ability to efficiently organize and prioritize tasks to meet organizational objectives.
  • Critical thinking and exceptional problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and highly motivated with strong communication skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driving record.
