About the Role

Merrick & Company is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer III to join our Surface Water/Stormwater Engineering Infrastructure team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to the design and development of innovative water management solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex analysis and design of river, drainageway, and urban stormwater systems
  • Prepare and review working drawings, details, layouts, cost estimates, studies, reports, and work products
  • Lead design tasks, prepare bid documents, and organize project deliverables with supervision from project managers and senior staff
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Merrick procedures and apply them as required
  • Exercise sound engineering judgment, initiative, and knowledge commensurate with the responsibilities of the position
  • Effectively interface with clients, Local, State, and Federal government agencies, and lead project progress meetings, make project presentations, and provide clear written communications
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Required Certifications: P.E. (Professional Engineer) in any state with the ability to obtain licensure in the State of Colorado within 6 months
  • Eight to twelve years minimum experience in the design and construction oversight of surface water and urban stormwater systems, or in land development, or related field of civil engineering
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to produce well-coordinated civil design documents
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and insurability under Merrick's insurance carrier
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or GIS Systems
  • Public works design experience with local, State, and Federal governments
  • Land development experience
