The Civil Engineer will work with project teams on civil engineering and related technical assignments. This position is aligned with the renewable energy sector and power delivery, with the option to branch into other sectors as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform and lead tasks related to civil design, assist engineers and clients with wind and solar project development, prepare construction documents, site evaluations, feasibility studies, road design, grading, stormwater design, and technical reports. Other duties may include project management assistance.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field, 5 years of related experience, computer skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other CAD-based civil design software, GIS-based software, and strong communication skills are required. Ability to conduct fieldwork independently or with a team, valid driver's license, and professional Engineer (PE) certification or ability to obtain within one year.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with plan preparation, alternative analysis, and quantity takeoffs, construction administration, and drafting presentations and reports. 7 or more years of related work experience may be considered. A hybrid work arrangement may be available for this position, with the option to split time between a Barr office and a home office.
Work Environment:
This position requires working in locations with rough terrain, limited accessibility, and industrial facilities. Safety training will be provided, and applicants will be asked to participate in a drug screening program. Compensation for this position includes a base salary range of $70,000-90,000/year, with the possibility of a discretionary cash bonus. Benefits include professional development funding, 401(k) retirement savings plan, employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) participation, medical and dental insurance, and paid time off.
