Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Civil Engineer III to perform assignments in the analysis and design of river, drainageway, and urban stormwater systems. The successful candidate will prepare and review working drawings, details, layouts, cost estimates, studies, reports, and work products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform design tasks, prepare bid documents, and organize project deliverables with supervision from project managers and senior staff.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Merrick procedures and apply them as required.
  • Make sound engineering decisions, exercise initiative, and demonstrate good interpersonal skills to effectively interface with clients and government agencies.
  • Lead project progress meetings, make project presentations, and provide clear written communications.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification in any state with the ability to obtain licensure in the State of Colorado within 6 months.
  • Eight to twelve years of experience in the design and construction oversight of surface water and urban stormwater systems, or in land development, or related field of civil engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to produce well-coordinated civil design documents.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and insurability under Merrick's insurance carrier.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or GIS Systems.
  • Public works design experience with local, State, and Federal governments.
  • Land development experience.
