Job Summary

The Juilliard School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Video Production Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing video requirements for all productions supported by the Production Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Video Designers to assess proposals and execute approved design scope for all production-supported shows and events.
  • Prepare and maintain all video-related paperwork pertaining to productions in each space.
  • Supervise crews throughout the production process, ensuring that all video equipment is properly and safely hung and focused.
  • Attend production meetings, rehearsals, and performances as assigned to maintain the integrity and smooth running of video operations.
  • Determine the appropriate crew calls and note sessions with the Electrics Shop Supervisor and the Video Designer.
  • Work with the lighting and scenery departments to determine location and lensing for projector on productions with limited video scope.
  • Coordinate with the venue Head Electrician to determine safe hang positions, power, and cabling needs.
  • Archive all video production paperwork.
  • Assist with the training of professional apprentices in the areas of maintenance, as assistants, and as operators.
  • Fulfill maintenance duties on a daily, weekly, and yearly basis in all theaters and the electrics shops.
  • Work as an electrician on load-ins, focus, and crew calls in other spaces as time allows and as assigned by the Electrics Shop Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Ability to collaborate as a member of a team.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.

  • Three years' experience as a Video Technician in a professional venue or related experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of video playback systems, projectors, and lenses.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instruction and work independently.
  • Computer literacy, including the use of Vectorworks and Q-Lab.
Preferred Background
  • Experience working in an educational institution.
  • Previous experience in a multi-purpose performance space, specifically a fly house with both manual and electric line sets.
  • Experience with theatrical rigging.
  • Experience on opera, drama, and dance productions.
  • Experience in AutoCAD, helpful but not required.
