Job Overview

Beck Suppliers Inc. is expanding and seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians in the Cleveland, Columbus, and Toledo regions.

Position Summary

The Senior Maintenance Technician is tasked with executing maintenance duties across various Beck facilities and affiliated store locations. This role may also extend to similar responsibilities for external entities. The primary focus encompasses all maintenance activities essential for seamless business operations.

This position is crucial in ensuring the efficient functioning of the Beck organization by managing daily facility maintenance and installation tasks proficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Diagnoses general maintenance challenges and liaises with the Maintenance Supervisor regarding assigned projects to ensure clarity on project nature and urgency.
  2. Adheres to the daily project timeline established by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  3. Completes assigned tasks with efficiency and expertise.
  4. Maintains ongoing communication with the Supervisor and/or Maintenance Coordinator to address daily operational issues affecting efficiency.
  5. Submits necessary field activity reports in accordance with Beck procedures.
  6. Collaborates with the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Coordinator, and Purchasing Manager to determine quantities and delivery schedules for parts and materials as needed.
  7. Ensures job site inventory is organized and maintained in an orderly fashion.
  8. Accurately completes accident reports when required.
  9. Fosters positive, cooperative relationships with fellow Beck personnel.
  10. Engages in safety initiatives as mandated by Beck protocols.
  11. Adheres to company policies and procedures.
  12. Provides maintenance across various scopes, including fuel systems, building upkeep, millworks, store equipment, HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical systems, signage, site maintenance, and any other general maintenance necessary for operational continuity.
  13. Coordinates with the Maintenance Supervisor for subcontractor dispatch as needed and follows up on subcontractor repairs to ensure completion meets specifications.
  14. Participates in cross-training with other divisions within the Facilities department as required.
  15. Engages in after-hours on-call rotations as necessary.
Evaluation Criteria
  1. No safety violations resulting in lost time or property damage.
  2. Completes all assigned tasks in a thorough, timely, and professional manner.
  3. Maintains effective communication with supervisors and service requesters.
  4. Submits complete and accurate documentation for data entry.
  5. Keeps job site and vehicle inventory organized and tidy.
Qualifications
  1. A minimum of 5 years of diverse general maintenance experience, with specific expertise in areas such as electronics, Verifone POS systems, Wayne or Gilbarco dispensers, Veeder Root Tank Gauges, HVAC/R, electrical systems, and plumbing.
  2. Experience processing work orders using specialized software.
  3. Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  4. A proactive approach to tasks, demonstrating a willingness to take initiative.
  5. Integrity, honesty, and a strong commitment to success.
  6. Exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
  7. Ability to interact tactfully with store associates, customers, and colleagues.
  8. Capacity to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
  9. Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotations.
Requirements

Must possess a valid driver's license.

5 years of diverse general maintenance experience with specific expertise in electronics, Verifone POS systems, Wayne or Gilbarco dispensers, Veeder Root Tank Gauges, HVAC/R, electrical systems, and plumbing.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Occasional: Use of hand and foot controls, balancing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, exposure to atmospheric conditions, moving mechanical parts, electrical hazards, heights, and explosion risks.

Frequent: Standing, walking, driving, lifting and carrying up to 90 lbs., climbing, forward bending, reaching, use of hands and fingers, exposure to weather, noise, and vibrations.
