Job Summary:

Targa Resources is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team. As an I/E Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical and instrumentation equipment, as well as maintaining and working on control valves and transmitters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment, including compressor panel control wiring and associated devices.
  • Maintain and work on control valves and transmitters.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including processing plants and field boosters.
  • Work on electrical systems ranging from 12vdc to 4160 vac.
  • Use electrical meters and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and lockout and tag out procedures.
  • Work on related projects with different company groups.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1-3 year(s) of related work experience.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to interface with teams, personnel, and vendors.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
  • Able to work in close quarters.
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Regular and Reliable Attendance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to diagnose PLC problems.
  • Knowledge of PLC code, Schematic wiring, and Ladder and P&ID's process diagrams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical control systems and maintain instrumentation systems.
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills to work with the I/E group.
  • Associates degree in electrical/instrumentation or 3 years of experience as an I/E tech in the gas processing industry.
