Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Shop Instrumentation Specialist to join our team at Archrock. As a key member of our production area, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of electrical and instrumentation duties, including installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform electrical repairs and installations, both independently and as part of a team, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Install pneumatic tubing, layout tubing on skids, and connect to end devices, adhering to all relevant specifications and guidelines.
  • Fabricate bracket braces and instrument racks, ensuring precision and quality.
  • Install wire and cable, both by hand and in cable trays, following all relevant safety protocols.
  • Assist with changes to panel selection, wiring, and other electrical components, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  • Maintain a comprehensive file of installation design and technique for new units, utilizing pictures and diagrams to document progress.
  • Test control panels and make connections, ensuring compliance with 10lb pull tests and all relevant safety protocols.
  • Perform unit certification, final inspection, and testing, documenting all results and findings.
  • Make final electrical connections after installation of conduit and tubing, ensuring all systems are functioning properly.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience, with a minimum of 2 years of electrical experience and some experience in electronics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of compression service and functionality, as well as familiarity with MCC and switchgear.
  • Working knowledge of end devices and system flow, with the ability to read blueprints and interpret NEC.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, with frequent exposure to electrical and mechanical equipment. The successful candidate must be able to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds, as well as push and pull up to 110 pounds. Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, and twist with good balance, the candidate must also be able to crawl, climb in and around equipment, stairs, and vertical ladders. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
