Position Summary
The Senior Account Manager plays a crucial role in cultivating the relationship between the agency and its clients. Reporting to a Senior Account Director or Vice President, this individual will deliver ongoing support and leadership for client accounts while maintaining a highly responsive service approach in all interactions. A deep understanding of both the clients' and agency's business is essential. This role requires a collaborative team player who communicates effectively with internal teams and possesses a broad knowledge of various communication strategies, including video production, public relations, crisis management, internal communications, advertising, and digital media. The Senior Account Manager will also oversee budget and project management for accounts, ensuring optimal client satisfaction and return on investment.

Strategic Planning and Research
- Develop and present comprehensive, well-researched integrated communication, public relations, and marketing strategies to agency teams and clients.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis utilizing the Kane Way methodology.
- Align communication, public relations, branding, and marketing initiatives with broader business goals, ensuring plans are crafted to achieve measurable results for clients.
Project Development and Execution
- Collect information from clients and collaborate with internal and external partners to create proposals or briefs for new projects or scopes of work.
- Engage directly with digital or research partners to gather proposals and estimates as needed.
- Oversee the execution of approved strategies and plans.
- Work with the account team to implement research and communication strategies.
- Collaborate with the creative team to formulate brand, marketing, and creative strategies.
- Provide relevant input and support to all team members, including contractors when necessary.
- Ensure that scopes of work are executed effectively, assisting with content creation, media outreach, and other daily tasks as required.
Financial Oversight
- Ensure all projects adhere to budgetary constraints and defined scopes of work.
- Advise clients on appropriate budget allocations.
- Provide regular updates on account progress and financial requirements for all assigned clients.
- Review and manage quotes, estimates, and invoices to maintain budget compliance and profitability.
- Proactively identify and communicate potential budgetary concerns.
Client Relationship Management
- Establish and nurture relationships with senior client personnel, focusing on delivering exceptional and proactive customer service.
- Maintain positive and stable client relations, keeping senior management informed of any potential challenges.
Account Growth and Retention
- Deliver outstanding service to clients, promptly addressing needs, requests, and changes in direction.
- Stay informed about best practices in communications, public relations, marketing, and branding, as well as developments in clients' industries to introduce innovative ideas.
- Set annual growth and retention objectives for each account and collaborate with a direct supervisor to develop actionable plans.
- Provide monthly financial forecasts for clients to assist in staff bandwidth planning.
Leadership and Accountability
- Inspire and motivate team members by creating a compelling vision, offering guidance on how they can excel while enhancing their skills and career growth at Kane.
- Hold team members accountable for delivering high-quality work, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Qualifications
Essential experience and core competencies for this role include:
- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, and/or public relations.
- At least three years of experience in an agency setting managing client accounts as the primary point of contact while balancing multiple clients simultaneously.
- Experience in consulting with C-suite executives, recommending public relations, communications, integrated branding, and marketing strategies that address reputation and brand challenges.
- Preferred experience in media pitching with established media contacts.
- Proven ability to delegate tasks effectively and accurately assess and review the work of others.
- Ability to present examples of strategic, integrated branding, marketing, and public relations plans or findings reports with actionable recommendations for clients.
- A passion for social change initiatives, corporate communications, and the integration of brand research and digital marketing into public relations efforts.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience in managing entry-level staff.
