Position Overview

Role Summary: This position entails providing comprehensive housing resources, advocacy, and referrals to families residing in transitional shelters. The aim is to facilitate their transition to stable and secure housing. The role includes outreach efforts to enhance accessibility for underserved populations. Responsibilities also encompass processing applications for rental and security deposit assistance to avert homelessness. The specialist will offer coaching and support to help clients overcome obstacles to maintaining stable housing. This role will operate from multiple locations.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant human/social services field or an Associate's degree with applicable field experience.
  • A minimum of one year of case management or relevant field experience.
  • Experience in providing housing support services within the state, particularly in urban areas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must obtain a Community Health Worker certification within the first year of employment, with support from the organization.
  • Must obtain a Housing First certification within the first year of employment, with support from the organization.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
  • Willingness to adapt to a hybrid work environment and flexible scheduling to accommodate client needs.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is essential.
  • Bilingual skills will receive an additional compensation of 6% above the base salary.

Physical Demands:

  • This role requires a combination of remote, office-based, and community outreach work.
  • Employees must be able to travel to various locations, which may involve using stairs, elevators, and walking.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs is necessary.
