Job Title: FSRI Bilingual Housing Specialist

Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bilingual Housing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA) program, you will play a critical role in connecting individuals living with HIV to safe, stable, and affordable housing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the process of connecting individuals living with HIV to and ensuring they can attain and maintain safe, stable, and affordable housing.
  • Collaborate with the Housing and Economic Mobility Director and AIDS Project Rhode Island (APRI) to develop and implement effective housing support services.
  • Provide housing support services to individuals living with HIV, including case management, advocacy, and referrals to community resources.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, including housing providers, healthcare organizations, and social service agencies.
  • Conduct outreach and education to promote the HOPWA program and its services to the community.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in a human or social service field or relevant field with one year of field experience preferred.
  • Either have a Community Health Worker certification with an HIV specialty or have the ability to obtain certification within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Experience providing housing support services within Rhode Island, preferred.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated sensitivity to LGBTQ+ communities, racial and ethnic minorities, and those impacted by HIV.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance required.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment and flexible scheduling to meet recipient needs.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
