Job Summary

The Loan Officer at Guild Mortgage plays a vital role in the organization's Production functions. This position is responsible for providing quality relations with borrowers through the origination processing of applications, loan disclosure, and review of files for adherence to underwriting standards. The Loan Officer ensures the completeness of submissions to processing, contacts borrowers to collect necessary documentation, and acts as a liaison between origination staff, underwriters, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate and thorough 1003 applications
• Collect supporting documentation from borrowers, including paystubs, tax returns, W2s, and award letters
• Analyze credit reports and financial scenarios to determine appropriate loan products
• Determine profitable loan options and communicate fees to the operations team
• Submit complete loan packages to processing

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• At least two years of experience in mortgage lending or a related field
• Active NMLS License
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, strong detail orientation, and highly organized
• Works with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness
• Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service
• Demonstrated patience and professionalism when interacting with internal and external customers
• Proficiency with data entry, PDF software programs, Microsoft Word, and Excel required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Work Environment

The Loan Officer works in a primarily sedentary office environment with frequent use of a computer keyboard and mouse. The position requires the ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation.
