Job Title: Hospital Stationary Engineer

The Hospital Stationary Engineer is a critical member of our facilities team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our medical center's HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and utilities. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to HVAC systems, including boilers, pumps, motors, and air handlers.
  • Conduct daily equipment rounds to identify and address any issues or malfunctions.
  • Respond to service requests and troubleshoot electrical problems within control circuits, cords, ballasts, and kitchen equipment.
  • Perform general plumbing repairs, including maintaining, repairing, and making alterations to steam, gas, water, air, and sanitary piping.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical equipment and utilities, including electrical distribution, plumbing risers, fire suppression, and emergency power systems.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a hospital setting, preferably as a Stationary Engineer.
  • City of Chicago Stationary Engineer's License.
  • Training and coordination sufficient to handle various tools and equipment.
