Position Overview

Core Responsibilities:

The Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing line by providing troubleshooting, testing, repairs, and maintenance services. This position is vital for achieving quality and productivity targets in production.

Key Duties:

  • Adhere to the production escalation protocol and conduct engineering assessments during production interruptions.
  • Quickly assess issues and propose effective solutions to maintain production flow, including performing immediate reworks such as cable crimping, soldering components, and adjusting alignments.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all activities during escalation support.
  • Diagnose system-level failures, sub-assembly issues, and test fixture malfunctions on the manufacturing line.
  • Conduct failure analysis down to the component level, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide constructive feedback to management and engineering teams regarding production processes and quality concerns.
  • Execute engineering tests and gather data to support experimental design activities or device characterization.
  • Review non-conforming parts in Material Review Board (MRB), analyze failures, make disposition decisions, and document findings.
  • Investigate root causes of non-conforming materials and provide insights for quality enhancements.
  • Document investigation outcomes in quality notifications, contributing to official Device History Records.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to address manufacturing, process, and quality challenges.
  • Assist engineering teams with electronics programming and functional testing during new product launches to identify issues and suggest improvements.
  • Mentor and cross-train colleagues in areas of expertise.
  • Perform additional engineering technician responsibilities as required.
Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience in component-level troubleshooting for FPGA/Microprocessor-based Printed Circuit Assemblies (PCAs).
  • Ability to perform failure analysis and troubleshooting independently.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting complex PCAs down to the component level.
  • Skilled in using troubleshooting and measurement tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and custom test platforms.
  • Familiarity with wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, and mechanical component drawings.
  • Competent in using computers and software for documentation and data presentation.
  • Able to read, modify, and execute test scripts for debugging purposes.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to various technologies for effective troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with production staff, supervisors, trainers, and engineers.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and manage multiple tasks to support production effectively.
  • Experience with Agile, SAP, MES, and SPC or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in troubleshooting electromechanical issues.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree, trade school certification, military technical training, or equivalent.
  • Experience in troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Open to recent graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $77,200 - $104,400
Base Salary Range Region 2: $65,600 - $88,800
Shift: Evening
