Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Department: Facilities Management

Position Summary: This role involves performing essential tasks related to the upkeep, construction, and repair of the facilities within the Gaming Enterprise Division. As the initial level in a structured classification system, employees in this position work under close supervision and are not expected to make independent decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct routine maintenance tasks under direct oversight.
  2. Engage in remodeling projects, including work on interior structures, cabinetry, gaming tables, and minor repair requests.
  3. Ensure work areas are secured until necessary repairs can be completed.
  4. Execute tasks in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  5. Collaborate with team members to achieve assigned objectives.
  6. Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete designated duties.
  7. Perform necessary mathematical calculations and interpret blueprints as required.
  8. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and equipment.
  9. Lift and transport ladders; maneuver scaffolding as needed for job completion.
  10. Address inquiries and concerns from team members and guests, providing courteous service.
  11. Respond to emergency calls after hours as required.
  12. Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
  13. Participate in scheduled training sessions for skill enhancement.
  14. Carry out additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Familiarity with tools, products, techniques, and standards for facility maintenance and repair.
  2. Understanding of standard hand and power tools utilized in maintenance trades.
  3. Awareness of chemicals commonly used in maintenance work.
  4. Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary precautions.
  5. Comprehension of relevant laws, regulations, and codes.
  6. Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools and equipment.
  7. Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
  8. Skill in maintaining positive interactions with the public and fostering good working relationships.
  9. Effective communication skills, with the ability to follow specific instructions.
  10. Capacity to work collaboratively with team members and guests.
  11. Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  12. Competence in performing mathematical and geometric calculations relevant to the role.
  13. Capability to measure distances accurately using various measuring devices.
  14. Ability to interpret graphic instructions such as blueprints and schematic drawings.
  15. Decision-making skills based on input from team members or guests.
  16. Ability to distinguish colors for electrical work.
  17. Commitment to safety without posing risks to oneself or others.
  18. Physical capability to lift, carry, and climb ladders, as well as push and pull scaffolding.
  19. Willingness to work at heights exceeding ten feet.
  20. Ability to remain standing for extended periods.
  21. Capacity to reach above shoulder level for maintenance tasks.
  22. Ability to work in confined spaces and various weather conditions.
  23. Physical strength to move heavy objects over distances.
  24. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions in various formats.
  25. Physical agility to perform tasks that require bending, squatting, and walking.
  26. Willingness to work in environments with smoke exposure.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Three years of experience in building maintenance, commercial trades, or facilities engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Possession of a valid driver's license.
  3. Ability to independently manage tool carts and wear tool belts, with or without accommodation.
  4. Capability to move heavy objects, with or without accommodation.
  5. Proven reliability, responsiveness, and creativity in previous roles.
  6. Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
  7. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  8. Eligibility to work in the U.S.
  9. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
