Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Faribault Foods. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the plant facility, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate as a team member of the maintenance organization, applying troubleshooting skills to determine the best process for repair vs. replacement.
  • Communicate technical issues, equipment problems, and continuous improvement ideas to the maintenance manager and/or coordinator.
  • Document equipment repairs and findings onto work orders for input into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP).
  • Generate work orders, enter and retrieve data from the CMMS system.
  • Perform simple wiring of ballast and automatic bathroom type controllers, utilizing a Digital Volt Meter to diagnose electrical problems.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM's), inspections, and/or repair of facilities-type equipment during shutdowns, which may require weekend work and/or shift reassignment in response to plant needs.
  • Assist the maintenance department in basic maintenance functions, addressing mechanical, electrical, material, and safety discrepancies as detected and/or reporting these discrepancies to appropriate personnel as necessary.
  • Rotate on alternative shifts as required, maintaining proper safety conditions of facilities equipment and company assets.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area, respecting Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Work in confined and tight spaces, complying with all company safety procedures and guidelines, and company policies.
  • Work daily overtime and weekends as required, maintaining an OSHA Certified Forklift License.
  • Demonstrate good attendance and adhere to company guidelines and policies.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated training and experience in work-related skills such as painting, carpentry, tile installation, bathroom fixture repairs, and/or replacement.
  • Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and perform effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Working knowledge of computers and software applications, preferably with MS Office applications.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute ratio, percent, draw, and interpret bar graphs.
