Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance and Engineering Technician to join our team at Marriott Hotels. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and resolve guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of equipment, and visually inspecting tools and machinery.
  • Identify and locate shut-off valves for equipment and buildings, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance tasks, including inventory management and requisitioning of parts and supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless operations.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of hotel systems, including energy management and engineering computer programs.
  • Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Assist with training and mentoring of junior engineers, and perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational or technical background in maintenance or engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting.
  • Valid Driver's License and Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and to move up and down stairs and service ramps.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance, with knowledge of hotel systems and operations.
  • Supervisory experience, with ability to train and mentor junior engineers.
