Sprinkler System Inspector

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Sprinkler Inspector IV to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our fire protection systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and testing of life safety product lines to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Learn to complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices.
- Follow and maintain a structured inspection schedule to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documentation using our laptop computer or phone system.
- Make minor repairs under the direct supervision of authorized personnel.
- Complete assigned inspections on time and to a high standard.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- 3-5 years documented experience in sprinkler systems is preferred.
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs, and operational manuals.
- Experience with hand tools and wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam systems.
- Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service and ability to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.

- NICET III Inspection and Testing Water-Based Systems
- NFPA Water-Based Inspection, Testing and Maintenance
- ASSE I50I0 Water-Based Protection Systems
- Completion of a DOL approved Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship Program
