Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sprinkler Inspector IV to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our fire protection team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction in our sprinkler system inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of life safety product lines, including sprinkler systems, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement a structured inspection schedule to ensure timely completion of inspections and minimize downtime.
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documentation using our laptop computers and phone-based systems.
  • Make minor repairs and adjustments to sprinkler systems under the direct supervision of authorized personnel.
  • Complete assigned inspections on time and to the highest standard of quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of documented experience in sprinkler systems, preferably with a NICET III Inspection and Testing Water-Based Systems certification.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Experience with hand tools and ability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service and ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NFPA Water-Based Inspection, Testing and Maintenance certification.
  • ASSE I50I0 Water-Based Protection Systems certification.
  • Completion of a DOL approved Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship Program.
