Job Title: Senior Craft Inspector - Pipeline Quality Control Specialist

Job Summary:

C & L Inspection is seeking a highly skilled Senior Craft Inspector to join our team. As a Senior Craft Inspector, you will be responsible for performing quality control functions over contractor's work, ensuring compliance with company specifications and approved construction drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure contractor's work meets company specifications and approved construction drawings.
  • Perform duties such as right-of-way clearing and grading, ditching, stringing, and bending, lowering, padding, and backfilling, road boring, tie-ins, clean-up, and inspection.
  • Work under the direction of the Chief Inspector and may be assigned additional responsibilities as required.
  • Provide quality assurance through inspection of work and materials for conformance to requirements.
  • Complete required documentation, such as reports and log books, in a timely, concise, and accurate manner.
  • Familiarize yourself with approved construction drawings and company specifications to ensure work is performed in accordance with those requirements.
  • Familiarize yourself with contract documents and applicable industry and regulatory codes.
  • Report safety issues to the Chief Inspector and Safety Inspector.
  • Perform drawing markups for as-built records.
  • Conduct hydrostatic tests and report any test failures.
  • Verify quantity, size, wall thickness, grade, heat number, other pipe nomenclature, and pipe coating, and its location.
  • Understand the basics of pipe alignment, welding, and inspection.
  • Assess and report on the condition of ditch bottom, rocks, roots, clay, and other debris.
  • Operate lifting and lowering equipment.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on painting and coating activities and items, including vendor product data sheet utilization, proper application of paint and/or coating, and proper setup and use of holiday detector/jeep.

Requirements:

  • API 1169 certification.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • 10 years of hands-on experience.
  • 5 years of supervisor experience.
