About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director to join our Fixed Income Research and Development team at FactSet Research Systems Inc. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of researchers and contribute to the development of advanced quantitative models and concepts for fixed income analytics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of fixed income researchers in the development of advanced quantitative models and concepts for fixed income analytics.
  • Collaborate with other Associate Directors in fixed income research and global teams of quantitative developers, software engineers, and product developers to deliver analytics to clients.
  • Set the roadmap for fixed income bond analytics, considering client requests, product deficiencies, and research opportunities to stay ahead of competitors.
  • Assess current implementation tools and processes to optimize and streamline the model research process, aiming for faster time-to-market.
  • Own the development of methods for determining bond prices or spreads, including trinomial trees, Monte Carlo simulations, and partial differential equations.
  • Research and implement industry-standard models for various bond types, including bank loans, municipal bonds, corporate bonds, high-yield bonds, perpetual preferred equity, convertible bonds, and contingent convertible bonds.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in fixed income, with a strong understanding of FI markets and principles of quantitative modeling in finance.
  • PhD or master's degree in financial engineering, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) fields.
  • Strong knowledge of stochastic calculus, probability theory, linear algebra, and numerical methods.
  • Good programming skills, preferably in Python, C++, or Java, with knowledge of object-oriented programming.
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and natural curiosity.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Agile, action-oriented, and quick thinking, with the ability to deliver preliminary results and dive deeper when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in derivative modeling.
  • Knowledge of modern portfolio theory.
  • Algorithms development, optimization, and profiling code.
  • Knowledge of SQL, preferably on MSSQL Server.
