About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Monitor Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Monitor Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely monitoring of patient heart rhythms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and interpret patient heart rhythms, documenting findings in patient records according to departmental standards.
  • Initiate and discontinue monitoring equipment as necessary, performing configuration as required.
  • Provide training and troubleshooting support to Central Telemetry and clinical areas, collaborating with Clinical Engineering as needed.
  • Maintain designated equipment, including telemetry and transport monitors.
  • Develop strong relationships with nursing and multidisciplinary care teams, adhering to confidentiality protocols.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Diploma Required.
  • Successful completion of the Heart Monitor Tech Course/Cardiac Rhythm course at any hospital.
  • Passing score on HUMC Monitor Technician Arrhythmia Exam.
  • Computer, order entry, basic Microsoft Office, and excellent communication skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changes as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Nursing Patient Care Assistant or Unit Secretary work experience in a hospital setting is strongly desired.
  • Current and active Monitor Tech work experience is strongly desired.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Providers is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of the heart is strongly preferred.
