About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented NUS Monitor Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clerical duties related to patient admission, discharge, and documentation, prioritizing and organizing work assignments based on changing needs and situations.
  • Greet patients and families, assisting them with necessary forms and paperwork.
  • Complete admission and discharge paperwork and file processing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop a rapport and cooperative relationship with nursing and clinical staff, responding to questions and requests from healthcare providers.
  • Organize and file medical information appropriately, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to strict procedures.
  • Answer phones and call bells, communicating clearly with unit personnel and guests.
  • Safeguard sensitive medical information, practicing strict confidentiality procedures.
  • Measure and interpret patient heart rhythms, documenting on patient records per departmental standards.
  • Adhere to confidentiality of information acquired, ensuring the integrity of patient and staff data.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma required.
  • Successful completion of the Hackensack Meridian Health Monitor Tech Exam is required.
  • Nursing Unit Secretary work experience in a hospital setting is strongly desired.
  • Current and active NUS Monitor Tech work experience is strongly desired.
  • BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of the heart is strongly preferred.
  • Computer, order entry, basic Microsoft Office, and excellent communication skills are required.
