Sterile Processing Technician Job Description

At Hackensack Meridian Health, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and service. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our medical equipment and instruments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and sterilize medical instruments and equipment
  • Monitor and maintain environmental conditions and sterilization processes
  • Assemble and dispatch case carts and emergency carts
  • Inventory and order SPD supplies
  • Perform daily soil rounds and maintain accurate records
  • Operate steam and Sterrad sterilization equipment
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient and effective processing

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
  • National Certification: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPDT)

Working Conditions:

  • Lifts a minimum of 30 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands for the length of the shift
