Cocoon House is dedicated to empowering young individuals, families, and communities in Snohomish County to overcome homelessness through outreach, housing solutions, and preventative measures. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to assume the role of Emergency Shelter Program Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing the Youth Emergency Shelter Program, which offers temporary shelter for youth for a maximum of 21 days.

As the Emergency Shelter Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and mentor staff, ensuring effective support and supervision.
  • Manage the intake and exit processes for youth, ensuring that case plans are tailored to meet individual needs.
  • Ensure timely data collection and input, maintaining compliance with licensing and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, and train Case Managers and Residential Youth Counselors.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers, Housing Program Managers, and the Director of Youth Housing to provide cohesive support across programs.
  • Monitor staff adherence to policies and procedures, providing guidance and conducting regular performance reviews.
  • Facilitate the initial assessment and intake of youth, developing personalized goal plans that promote access to education and life skills.
  • Oversee medication management and coordinate pharmacy relations.
  • Provide supportive supervision to youth, maintaining high expectations and fostering a nurturing environment.
  • Manage daily operations and ensure facility compliance, including conducting safety drills and inspections.
  • Ensure accurate data collection and compliance with contracts and licensing requirements.
  • Be available for emergency consultations and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Address community concerns and foster positive relationships with neighbors.
  • Adhere to mandated reporting requirements, documenting incidents and following up as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills with all clients.
  • Able to hear alarms and voices.
  • Ability to read and understand various materials.
  • Proficient in using a phone and computer for documentation.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate stairs quickly in emergencies.
