Job Title: Licensed Veterinary Technician

Pasado's Safe Haven is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Medical Operations Team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care for our sanctuary residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and anesthesia under the supervision of a veterinarian, and prepare animals for surgery.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery, assessing their readiness for discharge and supervising patient discharges.
  • Assist the Clinical Care Manager and Assistant Manager with various duties, including managing clinic schedules, inventory management, and preparing surgical rooms.
  • Perform regular rounds with each species to ensure prescribed medical care regimens are carried out, and document care staff concerns and observations.
  • Act as a secondary point of contact for medical emergencies, coordinating with veterinary staff to ensure timely and appropriate handling of emergency situations.
Requirements:
  • Must be licensed by the State of Washington as a Veterinary Technician.
  • Must have 2+ years of experience in a veterinary setting.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively and compassionately with all personality types.
  • Professional, positive, and calm demeanor, with the ability to work at a fast pace and stand for long stretches of time.
  • Passion for animal welfare and compassion for all animals, with a drive to end pet over-population and over-crowding in area shelters.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively.
Employment Details:
  • Regular Full-Time, Non-Exempt (40 hours per week).
  • Onsite at our Sanctuary in Monroe, WA.
  • Occasional weekend coverage may be required.
  • Salary range $24-40, starting salary range: $24-28.
